R3 Analogue Audio Router
R3 Models and Options
There are 4 basic R3 models, to cover all of your mastering insert switcher needs.
Each model has identical routing facilities, but a different number of inputs and inserts. As the number of inputs and inserts grow, the size of the control panels also increases. There are also a set of other options that can be added to any R3 to increase it's capabilities.
Between these 4 models and the variations, we can accommodate the vast majority of your insert switching needs.
R3-3AI Mastering Insert Switcher
The R3-3AI is our smallest R3 insert switcher. It is ideal for entry-level stereo mastering or production. It has 3 analogue inserts, plus 4 analogue machine inputs. It can be expanded to a larger R3 at any time, and while it does not supports parallel analogue processing, with the -TP option you can add MS and level processing to the 3 analogue inserts
R3-7AI Mastering Insert Switcher
The R3-7AI is our most popular R3 console. It has enough inserts for most users, and also supports parallel analogue processing. With the -TP option you can add MS and level processing as well. It's enormously flexible, and you can arrange your analogue chain exactly the way you would with a traditional patchbay. However because every patch is controlled from the front panel, it takes seconds to configure, modify and audition a chain. This means you can experiment with more creative possibilities, and get your work completed faster. It's a win-win situation!
R3-11AI Mastering Insert Switcher

The R3-11AI is our mid size R3 mastering switcher. It has 11 inserts, so you can connect all of your analogue to the console, and choose what devices you want to place in the signal path, and in what order, without degradation. It supports parallel analogue processing and with the -TP option you can add MS and level processing as well. Because of the 11 inserts, you can place both the MS and the trimmers into inserts, so you can determine where to apply selective level control, as well as selective MS processing. It's fast, flexible and sonically pure.
There is also an option to use the R3-11AI as a passive crosspoint matrix, a 12x12 stereo matrix. A true audio workhorse.
R3-15AI Mastering Insert Switcher

The R3-15AI is the mother of all mastering switchers. It has 15 inserts, so you can connect every piece of analogue that you own to the router, and choose what devices you want to place in the signal path, and in what order, without degradation. It supports parallel analogue processing and with the -TP option you can add MS and level processing as well. Because of the 15 inserts, you can place both the MS and the trimmers into inserts, so you can determine where to apply selective level control, as well as selective MS processing. And there's still inserts left for all of your gear! It's fast, flexible and sonically pure.
There is also an option to use the R3-15AI as a passive crosspoint matrix, a 16x16 stereo matrix. Do insert switchers get more powerful than this?
