R1 Models and Options

There are 3 basic R1 models, all based on the routing section of our powerful M1 mastering console. As well as comprehensive analogue and digital insert switching, there is also great record and monitor source selection, so you can easily monitor points inside the router and send these to an external monitor controller.

It seamlessly links analogue and digital inserts together with DAC and ADC converters, that can be our excellent Crookwood internal ones, or your preferred external ones.

Each model has a different number of inputs and record inserts. As the number of inputs and inserts grow, some extra features become available and the size of the control panels also increases.

Between these 3 models, we can accommodate the vast majority of your mastering needs.

The three models are:

• R1-3AI (R1 with 3 analogue & digital inserts)
• R1-7AI (R1 with 7 analogue & digital inserts)
• R1-11AI (R1 with 11 analogue & digital inserts)

The router has monitor selector functions because it has complete access to the analogue and digital record paths.  However you can easily just connect a single source to the routers and do all of the monitoring in your existing monitor controller, if it has enough inputs.  If it doesn't, you can view the router as providing an expansion to your monitor controller as well as providing insert switching.

 In addition for each console, you can specify any of these options:

• -TP:  dual stereo trimmer module and MS controller. For pre and post level control and MS manipulation. This module also can mix parallel inserts together
• -DA: our excellent internal DACs, ideal for monitoring or recording conversion
• -AD: our equally excellent ADCs, ideal for recording conversion
• -BM: true bass management for additional subwoofers, mono or stereo
• -DS: digital speaker output for driving digital speakers
• -VU: stereo analogue VU meters, with built in attenuator for correct operation. Available in 2RU or standard front panel package
• -TB: stereo talkback module, for talkback mix or replace of stereo cue feeds
• -GP: GPIO control panel to send and receive up to 8 contacts
• -CN: connector kits, Dsubs, XLR patchbays, or snakes
• -KT: mounting kits, wooden pods, 19" mounting or mount in studio furniture

Beyond these options we have a full custom department that can modify an R1 to be virtually anything you want!
