C10-8AS-8DS monitor controller

The C10-8AS-8DS is our middle sized C10 console. It is ideal for most customers production monitoring. It has 8 analogue and 8 digital inputs, and manages 4 speaker outputs.  You can select any digital source to send to a record output.  It can be expanded to a larger C10 at any time to increase it's capabilities, and can be ordered as a 7.1 controller.

Monitor sources

  • Choose between 8 analogue and 8digital sources to listen to
  • Choosing a digital source automatically inserts a monitor DAC without you having to do anything else
  • This monitor DAC can be one of our excellent internal DAC's, or your preferred external one.
  • Easily apply a monitor only trim to any or every source. The trim is calibrated in 0.25dB steps, so you can A/B any source to any other, removing any level differences- hear the difference, not the level
  • Each source has a labelled button, and you can print out your own labels to label them with their proper names (eg DAW, or Sadie)

Monitor Controller

  • Choose what to listen to with the monitor selector and send it to one of 3 speakers, or a set of headphones
  • There is a powerful internal headphone amplifier available
  • Each speaker has it's own level control, so you can switch between speaker sets with no jump in volume
  • The volume control has coarse steps below - 50dB, then fine 1dB steps from -50 to 0dB, so you can accurately adjust the level.
  • All levels are displayed on the panel LCD, so you can see where you are and recall levels easily
  • You can calibrate the controller to work to relative dB levels, with 0dB as your normal setting. This lets you easily compare mix loudness, and also operate Bob Katz's K system calibration if you want
  • You can make the nearfield speaker work independently, great for use with a external subwoofer
  • You can add our -BM bass manager option to get proper filtered outputs for stereo main speakers and stereo or mono subwoofers
  • There is a programmable Dim switch, where you can adjust the Dim level
  • There are a range of mono functions: Mono Sum and Mono Difference - great for listening to the out of phase audio
  • There is an analogue meter output for metering all sources

  • Additively solo or cut any speaker(s)
  • Additively phase flip any speaker(s)

  • Stereo Mono Sum, and a Mono Difference - great for listening to the out of phase audio
  • Stereo Mono Left to Left and Right
  • Stereo Mono Right to Left and Right
  • Stereo Left - Right swap
  • Stereo mute all surround channels - to easily listen to the stereo part of surround sources
  • Fold to mono on the centre speaker
  • Fold to stereo on the left and right front speakers
  • Fold to stereo on the left and right rear speakers - for better stereo performance
  • Fold LFE to LRC, for better determinatination of LFE phase coherence
  • Mono Surrounds for Dolby Surround work
  • Monitor insert to insert external room or fromat processors

7.1 Features

  • Surround inputs are 8 channels wide
  • All speaker outputs are 8 channels wide
  • Solos, cuts, phase, folds and monitor inserts all apply to 8 channels
  • Special fold to 5.1 feature, places 5.1 rears on the surround rears, rather than the surround sides. Blue ray players output 5.1 disc rears to 7.1 side speakers: our features saves you repatching

Transfer Selector

  • Select any of the digital monitor sources to be output to a record output
  • The source is shown on the LCD panel, and the Tfr source button will monitor it

Physical

  • 3 wide front panel units, fit into a 4RU 19" space, or a moveable wooden pod
  • 2 or 3 RU of remote rack houses all of the electronics
  • Supplied with 18' (6M) of connecting cable from the racks to the front panels
